Festive: we’re supporting youngsters decorating St Michael’s Church in the village of Cherry Burton
The countdown to Christmas has started early for the East Riding village of Cherry Burton – with our North region is offering a helping hand with the festivities.
We’ve “sponsored” a Christmas tree as part of a project by The Friends of St Michael’s Church to get creative with their decorations.
The church has enlisted its own little helpers from Cherry Burton Primary School to decorate a series of trees, bought with support from local businesses, to adorn the church at Christmas time.
The youngsters are being invited to put their efforts into producing a Best Dressed Christmas Tree. Prizes will be given for the best, and each child taking part will receive a reward.
Linden Homes North sales manager Julie Hubbard said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for us to get involved with such a great idea that will benefit the whole community – particularly in the run up to Christmas.
“We look forward to seeing the wonderfully decorated trees and wish all the children the best of luck with the project.”
We have also supported young people in the area by donating £100 to the Yorkshire branch of Variety, the Children’s Charity – which supports sick, disabled and disadvantaged children throughout the region.
