After supporting the junior section of Torquay Cricket Club again this season our South West region was challenged to a match by its young members.
To celebrate the ongoing sponsorship, both Linden Homes and our parent company Galliford Try were invited to take part in a healthy bit of teambuilding – headed up by Galliford Try executive chairman, Greg Fitzgerald.
Club chairman Dennis Brewer said: “We’re thrilled that Linden Homes supported us this year as it has enabled us to invest in facilities and focus on competitions for all young people at the club. It really is great to be sponsored by a local company with a strong reputation.”
Torquay Cricket Club has been in existence for 79 years. From its ground near the town’s seafront run five senior teams, two ladies teams and six junior teams.
Nigel Palmer, managing director of Linden Homes South West, said: “The cricket match with Galliford Try Partnerships and the junior section was great fun and everyone really enjoyed themselves.
“We’re delighted to support the local community in such a positive way. Inspiring the younger players really appealed to us; their enthusiasm for the sport is excellent and we have enjoyed following their matches – there are some very talented players with excellent bowling and batting skills, they’re definitely ones to watch!”
Linden Homes has contributed over £1.2 million to health care services in the UK since 2010.
