Donation: Linden Homes’ Susan Whiting (left) and Natalie Flint (right) with Susie Frearson
The fruits of a year of fundraising by our Guildford region have been officially handed over to local children’s charity Challengers.
Challengers was established in 1979 and is dedicated to providing exciting and challenging play and leisure opportunities for disabled children and young people. It has play and youth centres in Guildford and Farnham, and runs projects across Surrey.
Our team based in Guildford nominated the organisation as our local good cause for 2014 and by organising a range of activities throughout the year we managed to raise more than £600.
We presented the funds when we went to visit the charity’s base to meet some of the workers and find out more about what the funds will go towards.
Susie Frearson, Challengers’ corporate partnerships manager, said: “I’d like to thank Linden Homes so much for supporting Challengers throughout 2014. We really appreciated their backing – and what a fantastic amount to have raised!”
Linden Homes Guildford managing director Peter Youll added: “Challengers deserve support from the community because they do such fantastic work for youngsters and their families. We’re delighted to have done our bit over 2014 to help.”
