Prize: Galliford Try Partnerships’ Alan Wyper (right) is awarded by Avocet Hardware’s Michael Tuck
Our parent company, Galliford Try, won top plaudits at the Housing Innovation Awards for its smart use of renewable technology.
We picked up the Most Innovative Use of Renewable Technology title at the prestigious black tie ceremony held at the Park Plaza Riverbank in London.
The awards recognise inventive and original schemes and services and Galliford Try Partnerships was singled out for its work on homes at Sinclair Meadows in South Shields, the first carbon negative social housing development in the UK.
The scheme meets the community’s need for 100 per cent affordable housing while leading the way in the creation of truly sustainable homes.
Sinclair Meadows is home to one of the largest array of photovoltaic panels on domestic dwellings in the UK which reduces demand on traditional energy resources and exports excess energy back to the grid.
Stuart Gibbons, managing director of Galliford Try Partnerships, said: “We are delighted with these awards which highlight our experience and expertise in the provision of affordable, speculative and mixed tenure housing, community healthcare and regeneration.”
