From the demolition of a 1960s office building in Chiswick, we are planning to construct a stunning set of modern apartments dedicated to eco-friendly principles.
A range of green measures are to be fitted to the scheme in Chiswick High Road to cut carbon emissions by a quarter, and each home will feature a central energy monitor so residents can easily keep track of how much gas, water and electricity they are using.
Features include drought-tolerant plants in the roof and wall gardens, plus nest boxes for migrating swifts. Solar panels will be added to the roof, as well as high performance insulation, high-efficiency and low-emission boilers, and low energy white goods.
Sun screens will prevent overheating, and dedicated home office areas will encourage working without the carbon footprint left by the daily commute.
In addition, sustainable systems to store and drain water will regulate flows into the sewers to avoid flooding from downpours.
Linden Homes Chiltern managing director Darren Maddox said: “We are very proud of this development which shows how seriously we take our responsibilities in respecting the environment and responding to climate change.
“These measures will make it simpler for residents to adopt a greener lifestyle and save money at the same time – all while enjoying the quality and character that come with a Linden Homes property.”
