Graylingwell Park: it was described as a ‘dream’ entry for the award judges
We have picked up yet another prestigious accolade for Graylingwell Park in Chichester – the UK’s largest carbon-neutral development.
It was shortlisted for a Green Apple Environment Award after being nominated by its architects, John Thompson and Partners, for the category of Built Environment: Best Use of Mixed Development.
Linden Homes won the title jointly as a member of the partnership behind the scheme, which includes housing association Affinity Sutton and the Homes and Communities Agency.
Set within 85 acres of parkland, Graylingwell Park is less than a mile from Chichester city centre, and features its own community garden and will also have an orchard, farm shop and community hall.
Green Apple Awards organiser Richard Collins said: “Graylingwell Park was an absolute dream for the judges as it ticked so many boxes: an aspiration for sustainable urbanism, including the protection of historic buildings and the provision of affordable housing – what is there not to be impressed with?”
