Going quackers to support local good causes

We’re going quackers in Northamptonshire where our Midlands region is joining in with the annual village duck race at Burton Latimer.

The community event in the Pocket Park, close to our Centurion Grove development off Kingfisher Way, is on Sunday June 28th and includes bouncy castles, canoe rides, pond dipping, tractor rides and various charity stalls.

We’ve helped pay for thousands of leaflets promoting the fun day whose highlight is the duck race. Proceeds from the event, which will also boast live music, a beer tent and barbecue, will support the Pocket Park and the Burton Latimer Scouts.

The duck race co-ordinator is local town councillor Maureen Jerram, who said: “Our huge thanks to Linden Homes for their generosity in helping with the leaflet for the event, which we know will once again attract many people from the village and further afield.”

Warren O’Callaghan, Linden Homes Midlands regional sales manager, said: “We recognise what a very important date the Duck Race is in the local social calendar, and one which is greatly supported by the local community.

“As ‘newcomers’ to the village, we are delighted to be involved in some way and look forward to joining the community for the event next month.”
