Developer Linden Homes East Yorkshire has helped to bring some Christmas cheer to the congregation and supporters of a local church.
The village of Cherry Burton has again wowed visitors to the St Michael’s and All Angels Church with their decorated Christmas Tree display and competition.
As part of its on going commitment to supporting local communities and good causes, Linden Homes East Yorkshire has ‘sponsored’ a Christmas tree as part of a project by The Friends of St Michael’s Church to make Christmas merry and bright for the whole village.
Last year, the competition raised almost £1,000 for the church and improvements, and the Friends are looking to top that amount this year.
The money would cover the cost of the trees, the lights and the competition itself, and make a contribution to the upkeep and day to day maintenance of St Michael’s.
Linden Homes East Yorkshire sales director Steve Woomble said: “We have been very happy to once again offer some financial support to The Friends and their ongoing commitment to providing church goers with extra comfort and convenience.”
Chair of The Friends, Paul Staniford, said “Our huge thanks to Linden Homes for their continued generosity and support of the Christmas tree competition and the Church as whole.”
