The girls of the Great Danes Under-12s football team in Brentwood ran out onto the pitch for the start of the season in a brand new kit, thanks to help from our Eastern region.
It is the third season for the girls, who will proudly sport their Linden Homes sponsored outfit among some 25 teams the club is fielding during 2012/13 in both the Chelmsford Youth Football League and the Essex County Girls League.
The good news about the fresh kit follows an excellent result in the summer when the Great Danes girls won the Milton Keynes Tournament in a dramatic final which went to penalties. They held their nerve to triumph 4-2.
Team manager Andrew Mitchell said the money saved from Linden Homes sponsoring the team’s kit will go towards maintaining the club’s high standard of facilities.
Linden Homes Eastern sales and marketing director Gareth Jacob said: “We were delighted to be able to help out the Great Danes under-12s – our Olympic athletes have inspired so many young people this summer and Team GB’s women’s football team are no exception.
“We hope that by helping our local girls’ team, we can play our part in ensuring that the wonderful 2012 Olympic legacy continues to inspire the next generation of young football players.”
Linden Homes has won awards for Best Sustainable Developer four years in a row.
