Summer fun: one of the many events held throughout the year at Graylingwell Park
Residents in our eco-friendly homes at Graylingwell Park have fond memories of the last two-and-half-years thanks to the neighbourhood’s very own community development officer.
Jane Haskins has helped to create a family friendly atmosphere at the collection of superb homes in Chichester thanks to a string of events, activities and newsletters she has organised.
Set in 85 acres of beautiful parkland, Graylingwell Park is the UK’s largest carbon neutral development, delivered jointly by Linden Homes, Affinity Sutton, and the Homes and Communities Agency.
Jane is locally born-and-bred so she was ideal to spearhead the efforts of the Chichester Community Development Trust set up as a charitable organisation responding to local priorities and needs.
The range of activities have included a youth club, Sunday school, exercise and art classes, as well as three annual summer garden parties, a community garden, and a planned beer and sausage evening!
The Christmas party was one of Jane’s favourites. She said: “It brought the whole community together with residents helping with the organisation, and bringing food for the children. We had Santa Claus, mulled wine for the adults and lots of games for the children. It showed what can be achieved if the spirit is right.”
