Picture perfect: Linden Homes' Steve Garton (centre) with some of the young competition winners
Twelve Fairford photographers’ flashes of inspiration won their places in a special 2014 competition calendar produced by our Thames Valley region.
The winners, whose ages ranged from 8 to 64, shared prize money worth £985 after submitting images celebrating the Gloucestershire village – whether landscapes, events, traditions or eye-catching buildings.
The competition attracted almost 200 entries and the best were drawn together into a calendar which has been delivered to three local schools for them to sell to boost their funds. Images featured everything from sunsets and snowscapes to ducks and waterfalls.
Linden Homes set the challenge exclusively to villagers in Fairford, where it is developing Stoneleigh – a high quality collection of 19 three and four-bedroom detached family houses.
Linden Homes Thames Valley sales and marketing director Steve Garton said: “Fairford is a beautiful village surrounded by stunning countryside – so it made perfect sense to try to capture that in a calendar. People who live here are very lucky!
“The images reflect a thriving community and I think our exclusive new homes at Stoneleigh will fit in very well.”
