Fun and games: the summer fair at Cholsey Meadows
A brand new house worth £235,000 was among the prizes up for grabs at a summer fayre we organised at our Cholsey Meadows development in Oxfordshire.
Residents and the public were welcomed to a day of fun and games to celebrate summer – whatever the weather. Among the traditional activities, the Crack the Safe competition offered the chance to win a two-bedroom house to whoever solved a secret code.
Other activities included tethered hot air balloon rides, a falconry display, dog competition, and fun for the children such as Victorian swingboats and face painting. There was also hoopla and a coconut shy plus candyfloss, a hog roast, barbecue and drinks marquee.
An official Olympics torch bearer was on hand at the “Ch-olympics” arena where there were games and races for all the family.
Linden Homes Chiltern sales and marketing director Simon Pendlebury said: “It’s not been the sunniest summer so far, so we wanted to put a smile on people’s faces with our fayre and offer a really exciting top prize for cracking the code!
“Cholsey Meadows is a beautiful development which we are very proud of, but it’s important for us to help form communities as well as homes – that’s what this day was really all about.”
