Environment

The protection of the environment and climate change are among the greatest challenges we face. We recognise that we have a key part to play through minimising the impact our business has on the environment.

Sustainable Communities

It is vital we engage with local communities to ensure our developments meet the needs of local people. Community engagement is integral to the journey, from planning right through until site completion.

Community partnership finds its home at Kingston Mills

Kingston Mills: where the Bradford-on-Avon Community Area Network has its shop

Kingston Mills: where the Bradford-on-Avon Community Area Network has its shop

We’re providing a shop unit for a partnership dedicated to supporting the community in Bradford-on-Avon, so it can help local artisans sell their goods.

The Bradford-on-Avon Community Area Network gives groups and individuals an active role in delivering projects such as in transport, housing, health, the environment, education, and culture and leisure.

Since May our Western region has allowed the organisation without charge to use a unit in Lamb Yard – part of our award-winning Kingston Mills development which has brought to life a set of disused industrial buildings by the River Avon.

The unit hosts a shop called Made in Bradford-on-Avon which supports local artisans by selling a range of art works and craft items.

Kingston Mills is a town centre collection of homes, shops, cafes and public open space. It won the Mixed Use category in the prestigious Sunday Times British Homes Awards 2012.

Linden Homes Western managing director Clive Wiltshire said: “Kingston Mills is a very special development in the heart of the community, so it’s a perfect spot for the Bradford-on-Avon Community Area Network to have its base.

“We want to build quality homes where residents enjoy living, and having a thriving community is a very important part of that.”
