Anticipation: the display at Heartlands, near Redruth, is expected to draw big crowds

Fireworks, music and a party atmosphere will fill the air on Monday November 5th when we help a Cornish community celebrate Guy Fawkes Night.

Our South West region has sponsored the event, which will be free entry and is expected to draw big crowds to the Heartlands cultural attraction in the village of Pool, near Redruth.

At the 19-acre site will be a variety of entertainment including fairground rides, food stalls and live music from students and the headline act, ska band Rudi’s Message. The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm before fireworks are set off at about 7.30pm.

Vicky Martin, chief executive of the Heartlands Trust, said: “It’s been a while since there was there has been a community bonfire night here in Pool, so we’re ready to make it one to remember.

“Our fireworks at our launch and Flame Festival brought gasps from everyone, and this display will be bigger and better. We look forward to seeing everyone there and we are grateful to our supporters for their contributions to allow this evening to go ahead and be free to the public.”

Linden Homes South West sales director Brian Deacon said: “We look forward to delivering a new community of eco-friendly homes along with retail and office space, at the gateway of Heartlands, so we are pleased to support an event that the community can enjoy, at a venue that deserves to be celebrated.”
