Battling gusty winds and a perilous drop, Sally Frampton climbed the 115-metre Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth to help raise £4,000 for a local hospice.
Sally is a connections manager for our Southern region and she undertook the daring challenge alongside Libby Watt, the daughter of one of her Linden Homes colleagues, in aid of Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington.
They were both part of a fundraising event at the iconic Hampshire landmark which in total raised more than £20,000 for the charity.
Sally said: “It was a beautiful day and the views were incredible. You are concentrating so hard on getting down that you don’t have time to feel nervous. It was a once in a lifetime experience – and I’d like to thank everyone who sponsored us.
“Libby and I were very glad to reach ground level again – and so pleased we could help to raise some funds for Oakhaven Hospice.”
Jill West, community fundraiser at Oakhaven Hospice, said: “They were all so brave: It’s an amazing achievement and we are so grateful. So far the event has raised over £20,000, which is fantastic. We are already planning another sponsored abseiling adventure next year – probably in April 2016.”
