Our Midlands region took the unprecedented step of giving away as a raffle prize one of the most mouth-watering properties we’ve ever built – out of sponge and icing!
Our three-dimensional house cake was modelled on the Barnstone show home at our The Limes development, in Sapcote, Leicestershire. We handed it over to help raise money for the national Biggest Coffee Morning organised by Macmillan Cancer Care.
Fundraisers in the village held their own event in the Sapcote Village Pavilion and visitors made a donation to name the house. The tasty treat was eventually donated to be enjoyed by residents at the local Livesey Lodge residential home. It was hoped to top last year’s £2,600 total.
Organiser Jenny Chapman said: “Our huge thanks to Linden Homes Midlands for their generous donation of such a wonderful cake, and for helping to make the coffee morning another success for the village. We are hoping to top the amount we raised last year.”
Linden Homes Midlands sales director Chris Roads said: “We were delighted to be able to support this great cause, and the cake really did look stunning. As a ‘newcomer’ to the village we are keen to help the local community where we can.”
We only use composite front doors which are insulated to lessen heat loss from our homes.
Linden Homes has contributed over £1.2 million to health care services in the UK since 2010.
