A south Devon hospice received a welcome boost thanks to a fundraising golf day to which our South West region sent a team in support.

Rowcroft Hospice is a popular cause in the area as it provides specialist care to patients with progressive, life-limiting illnesses. Services include nursing care, medical treatment, therapies, advice and support.

The US-inspired event at Dainton Golf Club, near Newton Abbot, was played over 18 holes and attracted teams from miles around. It included on-course fun such as ‘The Big Hat Longest Drive’, ‘Fastest Drive in the West’, and ‘Hole in One Wins the Car’.

Ric Yerbury, from Rowcroft, said: "We were delighted to welcome Linden Homes to join us for our Rowcroft stateside golf day. Everybody seemed to have had a great time both on and off the course.

“Big hats, the helicopter ball drop and an awesome barbecue made for a special day. The generosity of all the players and partners on the day was much appreciated. We look forward to welcoming them all back next year."

Linden Homes South West sales and marketing director Brian Deacon added: “The event was a real success and we’re pleased to have helped contribute to such a worthwhile cause.”
