Cancer hospital receives welcome boost

Funding boost from local housebuilder

Funding boost from local housebuilder

Further to being selected as the company’s charity of the year, The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity in Sutton has been presented with a cheque from our Guildford region for over £2,300.

The money presented to the charity was raised through a host of fundraising efforts including a special auction, a raffle, and proceeds from a charity tuck shop. Prizes for the raffle and auction were generously donated by our sub-contractors and suppliers, and included West End theatre tickets, and an overnight stay at Champneys Spa.

Chris Lary, senior buyer and Paul Gerry, commercial manager from our Linden Homes South offices were there to present the contribution to Amanda Heaton, community and corporate fundraising manager at The Royal Marsden.

Amanda commented: “This is the second year running that Linden Homes has helped us and we really appreciate the time and effort the team has invested to raise these funds. The company’s generosity really does make a difference and these donations will go towards helping us build a future beyond cancer.”

Susan Whiting, marketing manager at Linden Homes South commented: “Our team voted for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity as their chosen charity last year and really got behind the various events we held in honour of the hospital’s name. We are delighted to have raised a decent amount of money for the cancer centre which helps so many people across the country. It’s just one way we are looking to give a bit back to the community this year.”
