Our Chiltern region put the kettle on and got baking to get involved in the national Biggest Coffee Morning to help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The team raised more than £100 for the cause by joining in the event on September 26th at its head office in Harefield with their own serving of cakes, savoury treats, teas and coffees.
The concept of the Biggest Coffee Morning event originally began in the 1990s when a group of friends had their usual coffee morning at home rather than in a café, they then donated the money they saved to charity.
Since then the annual event has raised more than £113 million. In 2013 alone 154,000 people took part, raising over £20 million. This year Macmillan hopes that 2014 will have been its biggest year yet.
Naomi Burrell, marketing and communications manager at Linden Homes Chiltern, organised the morning and she said: “It was lovely to see everyone here at Linden Homes Chiltern’s head office pull together for the coffee morning.
“We had a great range of cakes and savoury treats, and we hope to have contributed towards Macmillan meeting its aim of 2014 being its biggest year yet.”
All of our toilets have a modern dual flush facility to conserve water usage.
Linden Homes has contributed over £1.2 million to health care services in the UK since 2010.
