Point and view: site manager Carl Haskell shows the students around Harvest Meadow
Youngsters from Bedfordshire were invited by our Midlands region to take a look around one of the area’s newest housing projects.
The visit to our 24-home Harvest Meadow development in Dunton was by students from the Stratton Upper School in Biggleswade. It was part of their City & Guilds 6218 Level 1 Certificate in Construction.
They had the opportunity to chat to site manager Carl Haskell about the building and finishing process related to the development’s newly-opened four-bedroom show home, as well as understand how a property is constructed.
Linden Homes Midlands sales manager Warren O’Callaghan said: “We were delighted to host a visit by such an enthusiastic group of students – and potential home buyers of the future – at our Dunton development.”
Teacher Scott Jenkins added: “This has been a great experience for the students to find out first-hand about the various elements that go into building homes.
“They will go back to the classroom armed with fresh knowledge which will stand them in excellent stead for the next part of their course.”
