Budding bakers challenged to cake competition

Ready, steady, bake: a top prize of £200 is on offer to the best baker around Upper Rissington

Ready, steady, bake: a top prize of £200 is on offer to the best baker around Upper Rissington

Budding bakers from a Cotswolds community will be able to show off their tasty talents in a competition being organised by our Thames Valley region.

In a contest in the village of Upper Rissington, the best cakes will be judged by a local chef. Local schools in particular have been invited to take part, and the winners will receive up to £200.

The first round will involve people sending photographs of their bakes. The best of those will make it through to the second round when they will be challenged to prepare their creation and bring it along for judging.

The mouth-watering final will be hosted by our Victory Fields development in Upper Rissington.

Linden Homes Thames Valley sales and marketing director Steve Garton said: “At Linden Homes we’re about more than building – we really like to get involved in the community with events like this.

“We’re all very excited to see what creations will be entered. I’m sure they’ll be delicious and I’m very envious of the chef for getting the lucky job of doing the tasting!”
