Swapping hardhat and boots for running gear and trainers, site manager Nick Robinson has been pounding the streets of Lincoln in aid of a cause very close to his heart.
Nick, who is based at our Midlands region’s Cygnet Place development in Witham St Hughs, completed the Lincoln 10km with his partner Dawn Dye, raising an estimated £1,000 for the neo-natal unit at Lincoln County Hospital.
Nick completed the course in 45 minutes, 52 seconds and said afterwards: “The unit and the staff do an amazing job. They looked after our children Charlie and Rebecca when they were born six weeks prematurely in 2010.
“Charlie weighed 4lbs 13oz and Rebecca weighed just 3lbs 4oz. The help and support we received at the hospital made a very difficult time easier to bear, and the neo-natal unit gave Charlie and Rebecca the medical care they needed to help them survive their first few weeks.
“We cannot thank the staff enough for the help they gave us and thought raising funds to help them continue their work would be a good way to show our appreciation.”
