Innovation: Linden Homes Guildford managing director Peter Youll (front left) with VIPs and winners
The winners have been announced for the Guildford Design Awards, which we’ve sponsored for the second year running.
The competition was organised by the borough council, with support from our local region. It celebrated outstanding buildings, developments and conservation projects with the aim of raising design standards and environmental awareness.
This year's winners included the restoration of the roof and cupola at Guildford's historic Guildhall. Two new homes also picked up prizes, and there were commendations for two refurbishment and landscaping projects.
There was also a photographic competition themed “my favourite place or space” in the borough. Tom Enoch picked up the prize for his photos of the local common in Effingham. He received two complimentary tickets to a show at G Live.
Linden Homes Guildford managing director Peter Youll said: “It was a delight to support a competition which highlighted so many excellent examples of local design. I was very impressed at the standard of entries.
“Thoughtful planning is crucial for sustainable communities. That’s a philosophy Linden Homes shares with the Guildford Design Awards and it was a pleasure to see it in action.”
