Forget the Oscars – the clock is ticking for one of our site managers to find out whether he has won one of the building industry’s most prestigious prizes.
After winning the regional stage of the Pride in the Job Quality Awards, Steve Meeking is now up for the national Supreme Award at a glittering ceremony on Friday January 16th at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel, London.
Steve (40), from Harefield in Middlesex, was nominated for his work as site manager at our Chiltern region’s Mosaic development in St Albans.
He was among 13,000 site managers around the UK to be scrutinised for the accolade by the National House-Building Council, which aims to strengthen standards in the industry.
Linden Homes Group divisional director Tom Nicholson said: “We’re very proud of Steve for making it so far in the awards – it’s an excellent reflection of his professionalism and that of his team too.
“Whatever the result, being recognised by the industry for the way we build is ultimately about the results that we also deliver to our customers.”
Pride in the Job is the housebuilding’s most prestigious awards programme, and for 32 years it has recognised the UK's best site managers for their leadership, technical expertise, robust health and safety processes – and a certain X factor.
Over £133m has been committed by Linden Homes to improving local communities since 2010.
Linden Homes has won awards for Best Sustainable Developer four years in a row.
