Residents at our new development near Grimsby will enjoy a beautiful tree-lined avenue planted to mark this year’s diamond jubilee celebrations for the Queen.
The sight will welcome visitors to a new partnership development at Scartho Top, on the edge of the town, where our North region has contributed a stunning collection of homes called Ferriby Rise.
We joined with North East Lincolnshire Council, landowners the Brocklesby Estate, Balfour Beatty Living Places, Cyden Homes and Redrow to deliver the 60 trees – one for each year of the Queen’s reign – plus a commemorate plaque which will be installed later.
Cllr Mick Burnett, the council’s portfolio holder for tourism and culture, said: “The trees will help to transform this road, which is the gateway to a popular housing area for families, and will be enjoyed by many generations to come.”
Linden Homes North sales director Steve Woomble added: “It has been a truly remarkable year in terms of the diamond jubilee celebrations and this scheme allows us to become a part of local history in marking the 2012 milestone.
“The trees will not only enhance the local area, but will be enjoyed by everyone living in and around Scartho Top – including many of our own residents.”
