A winner has been chosen from five up-and-coming interior designers from Southampton Solent University who presented their show home ideas to a panel of top local professionals.
The students were challenged to come up with creative treatments based on a visit earlier this year to our South region’s St Michael’s Place development in Waterlooville.
Five finalists were selected by the senior lecturer of the Interior Design Decoration course to pitch their ideas at our Hawthorn Mews development, in Bedhampton, to a panel including Andrew Reynolds, our sales and marketing director, and Carrie Edwards, from interior design specialists Claude Hooper.
The winner was Jason Livingstone who was presented with £100 of shopping vouchers. The runners-up all won £50.
Andrew Reynolds explained: “The winning design selected really encapsulated our target market for our St Michael’s development. The colours, textiles and accessories used to support the concept were very well thought out, creating an attractive space that would appeal to potential buyers.”
Jason Livingstone (23) said: “I want to thank Linden Homes for the opportunity to present and pitch my ideas for the show home project. The project has allowed me to gain real life experience in the field of interior design and one that I have enjoyed thoroughly.”
