Sustainable Communities

It is vital we engage with local communities to ensure our developments meet the needs of local people. Community engagement is integral to the journey, from planning right through until site completion.

Cholsey Meadows: residents got to know each other over drinks, nibbles and a hog roast

About 200 people met their new neighbours at a special community event our Chiltern region helped to organise.

The fun social evening was for all the residents at Cholsey Meadows, one of our new developments located in the beautiful village of Cholsey, near Walllingford, in rural Oxfordshire.

The collection of homes includes properties delivered by Linden Homes as well as Thomas Homes and Soha Housing.

The event was a great way to introduce members of the new community to people they might otherwise not have met, and gave the opportunity for new friendships to flourish. There was a hog roast, nibbles and drinks.

Linden Homes Chiltern managing director Jeremy Alden said: “Just as we took great care to build a development that complemented its surroundings, we’re paying just as much attention to supporting the community that lives there.

“People had a great time chatting and getting to know one another, and I think the neighbourhood spirit really flourished.”

The blocks we use to build your home are the most energy efficient available and 80% of material within the blocks is recycled material - this saves heat loss from our homes and thus reduces CO2 emissions.

All of our homes come with Smart Meters. These have the capacity to automatically send readings to your energy provider.
