A combined fundraising effort by our Chiltern region helped to raise thousands of pounds for two children’s charities.
We sponsored two mums from St Albans, Anne Peters and Linda Hodgson, to help them raise more than £6,000 by running the London Marathon in aid of the PACE Centre in Aylesbury, which offers educational programmes for youngsters with physical disabilities.
Both Anne and Linda were keen to raise as much money as possible for the charity as family friend Daniel Oakey has been attending the school since 2002.
Joining them on the 26.2-mile course was Linden Homes Chiltern’s technical director, Jeremy Alden, who also raised £5,400 for Whizz-Kidz, a charity that provides customised mobility equipment such as wheelchairs and tricycles.
Jeremy said: “To be able to raise so much money for Whizz-Kidz was brilliant, so for Linden Homes to chip in to assist the PACE Centre too was even better. It was a tough challenge but with such a great result for these two charities, well worth it.
“I think this kind of support for its employees and local people is proof in action of what Linden Homes’ dedication to the community is all about.”
Our insulation process includes blowing insulation into cavity walls, which means our homes are better insulated because there are less air gaps.
Wherever possible the appliances fitted in our homes are ‘A Rated’ or higher for energy performance.
