Home becomes art gallery for local group’s exhibition

Art exchange: this house at Coed Y Brenin in Abergavenny has become a gallery for local artists

Art exchange: this house at Coed Y Brenin in Abergavenny has become a gallery for local artists

Artists got the chance to showcase their talents when our Western region turned a home into a gallery at a development in Monmouthshire, Wales.

Members of the Abergavenny Art Group were given space at Coed Y Brenin in the market town where they are displaying 50 paintings for visitors to admire and buy, if they take a liking.

The works adorn the walls of a three-storey, four-bedroom Beech style house and will be displayed until September 8th. The collection of 21 homes is beautifully located on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Abergavenny Art Group chairman Ralph Herron said: “We are delighted that Linden Homes Western has given us the opportunity to extend our summer exhibition schedule by allowing us to exhibit at Coed Y Brenin.

“Our artists’ work is presented here in a unique setting which complements the work of our members who live and work in the Abergavenny area.”

Sue Scholfield, Sales Director at Linden Homes Western, said: “The paintings look great in this setting and we hope that the exhibition will encourage interest in both local artists as well as in our Coed Y Brenin development.”
