A little boy battling cancer was gifted a holiday as an unexpected result of a New Year’s resolution by one of our sales executives.
When Hannah Sheppard, who works at Freshney Green in Grimbsy, pledged to give up smoking and get fit, she decided to run the Humber Half Marathon in June and collect sponsorship.
And it was 15-month-old Jack, whose parents Jade McCall and Marc Ramsey bought a property at the development where Hannah is employed, who was the surprise beneficiary of money towards a break at Centre Parcs after enduring months of operations and chemotherapy.
The family received £850 in vouchers for their holiday, which included an extra contribution from Linden Homes North to boost Hannah’s fundraising. They hope to make the trip later this year.
Jade said: “I was completely surprised when Hannah told us she had been fundraising for Jack, we didn’t know she was planning this wonderful gesture and even sponsored her for the half marathon! We are so grateful to everyone who has contributed.”
Hannah said: “The challenge for me was very fulfilling – both on a personal level and also being able to do something to help Jack and his family.”
Linden Homes has won awards for Best Sustainable Developer four years in a row.
