Golfers are aiming to chip in more than £5,000 for charity at a special competition day we’re organising in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.
More than 120 people are expected at the event at Mentmore Golf and Country Club on Thursday July 12th – including former England goalkeeping star Peter Shilton who will play a round, give an after dinner speech and conduct the auction and raffle.
The Linden Homes Commercial Golf Day will be in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and so far more than £900 has already been gathered, including donations from generous companies who are not able to make it.
The raffle includes passes for West End shows and the star prize of a 32-inch television. The auction is expected to spark fierce bidding for lots such as a signed Manchester Utd football, a photo autographed by footballer Andy Carroll and tickets to watch Saracens rugby club.
Linden Homes Chiltern managing director Darren Maddox said: “We’re very proud to be giving Macmillan Cancer Support our backing and I really hope we reach, and hopefully surpass, the target we’ve set.
“It’s going to be a great day with lots going on with something for everyone, and all in aid of a fantastic cause. Linden Homes is determined to be more than a quality homebuilder and to take a lead in giving something back to the community.”
Over £133m has been committed by Linden Homes to improving local communities since 2010.
