Devon bricklayer Larry Guilfoyle was honoured with a gold-plated trowel at a surprise ceremony to celebrate his more than three decades on the job.

Larry, who iscurrently working for Contour Brickwork at our South West region’s Webster Place development in Newton Abbot, has been practicing his trade with us for 33 years.

Greg Fitzgerald executive chairman of our parent company, Galliford Try, joined Derek Tinney, of Contour Brickwork, to surprise Larry on site to commemorate his loyal service to both companies.

Greg said: “Larry is an extremely talented bricklayer and a true gentleman who can’t do enough for anyone and all with a constant smile upon his face. I am delighted to be a part of this celebration, recognising his hard work and commitment over the last 33 years.”

Larry started his career in 1982 with Midas Homes, which later became part of the Galliford Try Group. His latest project, Webster Place, is a development of three and four-bedroom homes in the heart of Newton Abbot.
