Fundraisers collecting for a cancer charity succeeded in beating last year’s total five times over when they shaved off their Movember moustaches.
Directors and staff from the commercial, technical and production teams in our Midlands region grew their ‘taches during November to raise money for the Mo Bros charity, which funds research into prostate cancer.
When the shaving foam cleared, the team had accumulated £3,000 for the cause, thanks to generous friends, family and colleagues – easily surpassing the £600 gathered in 2012.
Chris Harris, who heads up the commercial department, said: “It’s a great cause and a bit of fun too. This is the kind of fundraising event that gets people talking and hopefully donating to the cause and we are delighted to say that we’ve raised £3,000.
“We wanted to beat our 2012 total of £600, so a massive thank you from the now moustache free team to everyone who has supported us.”
Over 40,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer ever year and 250,000 men are currently living with the disease. It is the most common cancer in men in the UK. To add a donation, visit http://uk.movember.com/team/1270213.
