Our Guildford region is entering another team of four this year to raise funds at an annual golf day held in aid of a children’s hospice charity.
The money will go to Shooting Star Chase, a charity for families living in western London, Surrey and West Sussex who have a child or teenager suffering a life-limiting condition. Its two hospices are Christopher's in Guildford and Shooting Star House, Hampton.
The fundraiser is named Gracie’s Golf Day in memory of a little girl who received care at Shooting Star House and whose family organises it every year. It raised about £10,000 in 2012.
The day will include fierce but friendly competition around the 18 holes, one of which Linden Homes is sponsoring with a banner provided by Reade Signs. Afterwards players will enjoy an evening meal, trophy presentations and an exciting auction.
It will be at Sutton Green Golf Couse, near Woking, Surrey, on June 6th. Previous golf fundraising helped the charity completely refurbish its multi-sensory room at Shooting Star House.
Linden Homes Guildford managing director Peter Youll said: “It’s becoming a bit of a tradition for Linden Homes to get involved in Gracie’s Golf Day. It’s a brilliant cause which is very close to the community’s heart, so we’re delighted to support it again.”
Linden Homes has contributed over £30.7 million to highways, transport systems and infrastructure throughout the UK since 2010.
