Staff, local residents and customers have donated gifts for a special Christmas initiative run by our Eastern region.
The presents have been handed out to young patients at Chelmsford’s Broomfield hospital after accumulating at drop-off points at our offices in the town and at developments such as Northfields in Colchester, Edge in Harlow, and St Johns and Beeches Crescent in Chelmsford.
Sue Hursitt, lead play specialist from the Phoenix Children’s Ward, said: “For our small patients and their families, the prospect of Christmas in hospital is unpleasant and often daunting.
“Donations like this make such a huge difference and offer a welcome distraction to the children. We couldn’t be more grateful to Linden Homes for their generosity and support.”
Yvonne Carter, charities support officer for Mid Essex Hospital’s ‘Our Charity’, said: “Our Charity is so thrilled to once again be working together with generous organisations like Linden Homes to provide some of our smallest patients with the Christmas they deserve, even in difficult and often stressful times.”
Trevor Dempsey, managing director at Linden Homes Eastern, added: “We are so grateful to everyone who has donated a present – either to our head office or at one of our developments. It could make such a difference to a young person who can’t be at home for Christmas this year.”
