When we discovered an outlying badger sett near one of our Western region’s developments at Midsomer Norton, Somerset, we took action to cause them as little disruption as possible.
The creatures’ home was identified through one of our careful ecological surveys and although badgers use a number of setts, we knew it was important to make sure the work on the very edge of the site did not disturb the clan.
So to preserve their peace and quiet we changed the plans to divert a path around their home, keeping residents and walkers at a distance.
The Impact development will be a stylish collection of three and four-bedroom contemporary homes in popular Midsomer Norton, just 10 miles from Bath and 15 miles from Bristol.
Linden Homes Western managing director Clive Wiltshire said: “For a beautiful part of the country like Somerset, in particular, making sure the surrounding flora and fauna are looked after is very important to us and we are determined to get it right.
“We take just as much care in building our quality homes as we do to investing in the local community, and that includes protecting animals that are very precious to residents – both current and future.”
