We kicked off a national campaign aiming to collect thousands of unwanted sports kits for disadvantaged communities in the UK and around the world.
With our partner, Kits 4 Causes, through our Kit Up, Kit Out project we are urging individuals and teams to hand in their old kits at dedicated drop-off points at our developments around the country.
Kits 4 Causes uses the shirts in its football schemes in the UK to help tackle social issues such as truancy and social exclusion, as well as bringing communities in conflict together through sport in Africa.
As an additional incentive for communities to get involved, there was a prize draw for donors to win a brand new shirt of their choice, while a team donation was in with the chance for a whole fresh set of strips, and £1,000 for new equipment to benefit the local community.
Linden Homes Group managing director Ian Baker said: “As a leading national business with a network of local offices, we can offer Kits 4 Causes vital support to reach donors around the country and gather as many strips as possible.
“We expect a wonderful response because this is such an inspirational cause that aims to bring communities together – a philosophy of neighbourhood engagement we are passionate about ourselves.”
Over £133m has been committed by Linden Homes to improving local communities since 2010.
We only use composite front doors which are insulated to lessen heat loss from our homes.
