Middle Deepdale is an exciting new town that will attract homebuyers from all over. The total development area is around 165 acres in size, and our 103 plots will take over part of this space. As well as our homes, there will also be a primary school, extra community facilities, shops and a new link road between the A64 and the A165. The development of Middle Deepdale is an important addition to the continued growth of Scarborough, and our homes will help create a more diverse mix of housing, which is needed for this part of the north.

Choose a home in Scarborough

If you’re considering Scarborough as your new home, you’ll find plenty to see and do here. The area is renowned for its range of fine dining restaurants and pubs, where you’ll find excellent local cuisine to suit all kinds of tastes and budgets. There are also many shops - both high street names and independent retailers - in the centre, along with a good number of entertainment venues, including theatres and cinemas; there is even an open-air theatre offering entertainment for every taste and mood. It has played host to the great Tom Jones and will soon be welcoming Bastille to the stage.

As a seaside resort town, there is much to be discovered just away from the centre. Valley Park is a consistently popular place to spend time in the open air, where you can enjoy the attractive gardens and flowerbeds, as is Peasholm Park, which also has a large boating lake, lots of wildlife and rare trees. If you enjoy the beach, then South Bay Beach is the place for you, with its golden sands, pier and selection of eateries. Those interested in all things aquatic will love wandering around the Sea Life Centre, which is home to many species of sea creatures. For history lovers, Scarborough Castle makes for a great day out for all the family, with its plentiful history, exhibitions and unique views. There are also several transportation museums to visit too, including The Scarborough Fair Collection, North Bay Railway and the Central Tramway Company.

What’s close to Scarborough?

There is plenty to see and do at a short distance from our new builds. Scarborough is around 16 miles from the beautiful North Riding Forest Park. Here you can enjoy picturesque walks or picnics with family or friends while taking in the peace and tranquillity this green open space offers. Of course, you may want something a little more active; the forest park also has plenty of rugged terrain to take mountain bikes on to.

A little further away - at around 42 miles - is the historic and hugely popular city of York. For shoppers, you’ll be able to find an extensive choice of high street retailers and independent shops, markets and antique stores. History lovers will be able to explore several museums, the fascinating York Minster and wander through ancient cobbled streets. And for anyone looking for entertainment and great food, York will not disappoint; there are theatres, cinemas and live music venues all around the city, with all kinds of food available in a huge choice of restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and bars.

Local schools and education

Families looking for Ofsted rated schools will find a range of public and private schools close to the new development. Wheatcroft Preschool and Gladstone Road Infant School (both rated ‘Good’) are popular choices for very young children. ‘Good’ rated primary schools in this area are in abundance. You will have a choice from Northstead Community, St Peter’s RC, Wheatcroft Community, Friarage Community and Newby and Scalby primary schools. Older children can attend Scalby Secondary School or St Augustine’s RC Secondary School (both rated ‘Good’).

For private education, Scarborough College is an independent day and boarding school for students aged 3-18 years.

Transport and travel

Commuters searching for property for sale in Scarborough will have the benefit of good transport links from our new homes in Middle Deepdale. There is a choice of ‘A’ roads close by, including the A64 for Malton and York, the A165 for Bridlington and Hull, and the A170 for Thirsk. You can also access the A1(M) from the A170, which allows for journeys as far as Edinburgh in the north and London in the south.

If you want to get around by train, Scarborough railway station offers regular services to York, Sheffield and Liverpool Lime Street.

For more local journeys, the new development will be close to a reliable bus route, which will be ideal for trips into central Scarborough.

And for air travel, Humberside airport will be the closest to these new houses for sale, where you can reach a number of destinations around the UK and Europe.
