A small town, within easy reach of two beautiful and eclectic cities

Less than a mile from a good range of shops and services for everyday needs. An infant and junior school both within a short walk from home. And the bustling and popular cities of York and Hull within short drives. These notable benefits and more are all available to you at Bradley Fields.

A short journey into town will bring you to a large supermarket and petrol station, independent shops, banks, a hair salon, doctors’ surgery, florist, grocer, pet shop and a DIY store. There is also an abundance of cafes, pubs and restaurants found along the high street, York Road and Market Place, meaning a trip into town can be a great place to meet with friends and family for something to eat and drink. Market Weighton also has three churches - two within the centre and one just on the outskirts of town - as well as a well-stocked library and a veterinary surgery. With so much to be found in a relatively small town, you’ll always be able to find just what you’re looking for.

What’s close to Market Weighton?

Located just 7 miles from our property for sale in Market Weighton, and on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, is Burnby Hall Gardens and Museum. These award-winning gardens have been described as ‘a jewel in Yorkshire’s crown’, and there is plenty to discover, including lakes, rockeries, beautifully arranged flowerbeds, natural shrubbery and a Secret Garden. The museum is dedicated to Major Percy Marlborough Stewart, the man who inspired the gardens and who also travelled around the world eight times between 1906 and 1926. It is the history of his travels that can be found in the museum, as well as a selection of fascinating artefacts.

Around 23 miles away from home are the always-popular cities of York (north west of Bradley Fields) and Hull (south east). Both cities offer visitors an extensive menu of history, culture, shopping and dining. York is where you’ll discover the famous Minster, along with beautiful architecture, attractions, and pretty, cobbled streets. In Hull, there is much to discover about the city’s maritime history, along with a number of museums and galleries. Whichever city you visit, there are plenty of shopping, entertainment and dining options to choose from. Both cities’ network of streets is home to a vast number of independent shops, quirky boutiques and well-known high street retailers, meaning shoppers will find whatever they need, as well as whatever they want. For dining out, there are numerous cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants in both cities, where a vast array of cuisines is available to suit every appetite and budget. And with a great deal of attractions available for all members of the family, a day spent in either location is time well spent.

For those who like to be in the great outdoors, the Howardian Hills AONB is the place to visit. Just under 30 miles away from Bradley Fields, this vast expanse of stunning landscape is the ideal place to get away from the bustle of town for a little while. Over its 79 square miles, you can explore rolling countryside, pasture fields, parkland, pretty villages, beautiful country houses and parkland. Although smaller in size than the neighbouring North York Moors National Park, it is no less attractive, and is an area not to be missed for a day trip.
