For history buffs, Preston Park Museum is a must when visiting Stockton. Set in 100 acres of parkland overlooking the River Tees, the museum and gallery encompasses a Victorian street where visitors can walk back through time and meet the museums traditional craftspeople. The park itself hosts an adventure play area, Butterfly World, Skatepark, miniature railway, and river boat rides on the River Tees – a great day out for all the family. 

Slightly further afield, under 30 miles from Hallside and on the east coast, you’ll find the historic seaside town of Hartlepool. A town seeped in over 1000 years of history, Hartlepool is home to the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool and the historic dockyard of Hartlepool Quay – an interesting day out for all. Hartlepool is also famous for its award-winning marina complex which is home to a selection of cosmopolitan bars, cafes, and restaurants.

If it’s a day at the seaside you’re after, Seaton Carew beach runs from the edge of Hartlepool Marina to the Tees Estuary and Blue Lagoon beach, providing several miles of beach walks for your family to enjoy.
