Known for being the starting point of the Camel Estuary, Wadebridge is a lively town in the North of Cornwall and it offers the best of both worlds: it’s close (5 miles) from some of the UK’s most beautiful beaches while it offers a typical Cornish experience.

The local amenities of Wadebridge village are just a few minutes’ walks away from home including a Co-op, Post Office, a florist, and a vet surgery for your fluffy friends.

For the sea lovers, head on to Polzeath for surfing and Rock for sailing and water-skiing when you are looking for an exciting weekend in and on the water.

If you like a more relaxed way to spend your time, Wadebridge has an independent cinema, tennis courts and several sports clubs as well as a leisure centre. Bodmin Moor AONB is nearby (18 miles) and it’s also easy to drive up the coast to Boscastle (20 miles) or to Tintagel to admire the Castle (15 miles).

The popular town of Newquay is a little further afield (16 miles away) and offers an abundance of shops, places to eat and the spectacular Blue Reef Aquarium, which is a perfect place to entertain and educate children and adults alike about the wonders of the sea. Newquay is also home to some of the most spectacular sea-side restaurants for all tastes and budgets, where you can admire the coast from above the cliffs.

Wadebridge is easily accessible from the A39, which is one of the main roads heading North-East from Truro through Wadebridge and onto the North Cornwall and Devon coast, making it ideal for commuters and those eager to explore the rest of the South-West’s glorious coast and hidden gems. The A39 is also connected to the A38 which drives south-east to Plymouth (40 miles) and south-west to Falmouth (36 miles). Exeter and Barnstaple are also easily accessible although a bit further to the East with 70 and 68 miles respectively.

For travel by rail, the nearest train station is Bodmin Parkway (11 miles away), which can be accessed by bus from Wadebridge. The 11a bus runs from Bodmin Parkway to Padstow via Wadebridge. The station provides regular services to Exeter (1h 52 mins), Falmouth (1h 8 mins) and Plymouth in less than 1 hour.

For air travel, the closest airport is in Newquay (16 miles away) and provides weekly flights to Cardiff, Bristol, Guernsey and Brest (France) for a weekend getaway.
