A delightful collection of 2, 3 & 4 bedroom houses for sale in Penzance

Welcome to Gwel Enys, a wonderful place to live in a classic Cornish village, with history, charm and natural beauty all combining to sum up the very best that this much-loved region has to offer. ’Gwel Enys’ means ’view of an island’ in Cornish and many of the new homes will enjoy stunning views across the bay towards St Michael’s Mount.

It’s an ideal location for anyone seeking somewhere at the heart of a traditional community. Within a short drive there are bustling towns and villages with local schools, employers and community amenities. And for visitors and locals alike, there are beautiful and fascinating places to visit and explore.

The church of St Maddern, and the nearby ancient well, which is believed to have healing powers, indicate the antiquity of this charming Cornish village, on a hillside overlooking Penzance and Mount’s Bay.

The village has a popular C of E Primary School, a playing field well-used by the village football, cricket and rugby clubs, and a popular school of yoga and organic restaurant. Penzance is less than 2 miles away, with 3 superstores (Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons), a shopping centre, leisure centre, outdoor pool and train station with mainline services to London Paddington.

There’s plenty to discover a short drive from Gwel Enys

Those searching for new homes for sale in Penzance will find there’s so much more to Cornwall than pasties and Poldark! The stunning area around Gwel Enys has mysteries, history and moors to discover and explore.

Madron Well, with its fabled healing powers and ancient legends, is nearby. To this day, visitors hang strips of coloured cloth - ’Clouties‘ - on the branches of the overhanging tree which can be seen on the approach to the well. Nearby, Lanyon Quoit is a prehistoric dolmen, believed to be the remains of a megalithic burial chamber.

Climbing higher into the moors you can take in the view over Mount’s Bay towards St Michael’s Mount - an ancient starting point for the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, in Northern Spain.

With charming towns and fishing villages like Mousehole to visit, the wild cliffs and landscapes of The Lizard, and the unique Minack Theatre, dramatically carved out of the cliffs, anyone looking for property for sale in Penzance will be spoilt for choice when it comes to days out.
