The principle of development at land west of New Barn Lane was established when Arun District Council granted outline planning permission for 90 new homes in February 2016. In May 2017, permission was also granted for an amended access for the site.
Following these decisions, Linden Homes undertook its own programme of community consultation in July 2017 and has now submitted a reserved matters planning application (Application Reference: BE/113/17/RES).

The proposed reserved matters layout follows the principles approved at the outline stage.
The proposals include a comprehensive landscaping strategy which will include the creation of a large area of public open space, attractive boundary treatments and new planting across the site. The overall visual appearance of the site will ensure a pleasant environment for nearby existing and future residents to enjoy.
