The Old Brewery Attracts Customers From Further Afield

Linden Homes sees 40 per cent uplift in enquiries from Surrey.

The Old Brewery in Horndean, Linden Homes’ extraordinary development on the site of the old Gale’s Brewery is causing a stir, not just locally but further afield.

Word is out about the houses and apartments now available in the heart of this lovely and bustling Hampshire village.

The team at Linden Homes has seen an impressive 40 per cent uplift of enquiries from Surrey during the last quarter, compared with the previous period. Interest from the Surrey region now equates to 18 per cent of all enquiries (year to date) or The Old Brewery development, which the team only expect to rise over coming months.

Several customers have already moved here from Surrey – Guildford in particular – and from London. Many of them have said how delighted they were to discover how much more they are getting for their money here.

Callum Kelly and his fiancée Chloe Ferrier travelled down to Horndean from their rented home in Ealing in London. They had struggled to climb onto the capital’s property ladder, so decided to see what was available further afield. It was a friend that told them about The Old Brewery.

Callum says discovering the development was an eye opener:

“It wasn’t until we came out to take a look that we realised the radical difference in prices to the London market. Compared to the tiny one-bedroom flats we were considering in London, we realised we could afford a two-bedroom house rather than an apartment, with the luxury of a garden too!”

The couple eventually settled on a two bedroom home:

“We hadn’t considered a new build home before. We liked the Old Brewery because the houses didn’t all look the same. We were really impressed with the different look of each property.”

Andrew Reynolds, head of sales and marketing at Linden Homes Southern commented: “We have been amazed at the interest in The Old Brewery site from people up the A3 – it’s a natural fallout from Surrey, as people realise they can get a lot more for their money. Just over the last few months we have seen a 40 per cent uplift in enquiries over the last quarter from the Surrey area.”
