Linden Homes’ senior site manager, Bob Mitchell, has been honoured with a coveted NHBC (National Housebuilding Council) Seal of Excellence award for his extremely high standard of work at Kings Gate in Kingsteignton.
Following on from his Pride in the Job award win in the summer, which acknowledged the top 450 site managers from across the UK, Bob was recognised further for his dedication to build homes of exceptional quality.
The Seal of Excellence awards took place at a ceremony in Exeter on 21st October and saw the top 13 site managers in the South West honoured for their outstanding work.
As well as undergoing spot checks on the day-to day running of the sites, each site manager was assessed across 37 areas of site management, including their technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and the quality controls they have in place.
Bob Mitchell, 61, is a senior site manager at Linden Homes’ Kings Gate development in Kingsteignton. He lives in Plymouth and this is his eighth NHBC Pride in the Job Quality award and second Seal of Excellence award.
Commenting on the news, Bob said: “Kings Gate has proved to be a very popular development and we have homebuyers waiting for the properties to come onto the market, so I’ve been determined that while the homes will be completed on time, they will also be built to a very high standard.
“For me, it comes down to organisation – I need a plan and everything has to be tidy. It’s been a challenge working on such a busy site, and we even had a visit from the Prime Minister last autumn, but I’ve relished it and I’m thrilled to have won the NHBC Award – it’s been a real team effort.”
Nigel Palmer, managing director of Linden Homes South West, said: “It is wonderful that Bob has been acknowledged as one of the very best site managers in the country. Competition is really fierce; over 16,000 site managers compete for the first stage and we’re very proud that Bob has been recognised at this exceptional level.”
