Linden Homes Foundation Raises Its Biggest Charity Donation Yet
14 Jan 2016

The Linden Homes Foundation has made one of its biggest ever charity donations by handing over more than £45,000 to a young people’s cancer charity.

Now into its fourth year, the Foundation was launched by the top five housebuilder in June 2012 to unite the company’s community involvement under a single banner. It lets people request support and aims to bring real-life benefits of housebuilding in their neighbourhood.

The Emily Ash Trust was the beneficiary of the money raised by Linden Homes South East at its annual charity golf day. Representatives from the trust visited the region’s Caterham base, in Surrey, to thank the team and collect the funds raised.

Paul Antino, patron of the Emily Ash Trust, said: “This fantastic sum raised by Linden Homes will enable us to provide a wonderful range of uplifting events and treats for the children and their families in 2016.”

The fundraising drive is just one of more than 650 examples of Linden Homes’ community-spirited actions, which are archived on a dedicated website and divided into three distinct areas: communities, people, and the environment.

Stories from the last six months include setting up a collection point for a food bank in Devon; challenging a Cotswold village to a photography competition; and achieving silver in the NextGeneration national benchmark for sustainable working.

Andrew Richards, Linden Homes group managing director, said: “Raising more than £45,000 for a much-loved local charity is a fantastic achievement, and it showcases the Foundation’s huge potential for good works that answer real needs at a local level.

“As well as direct fundraising, Linden Homes’ teams around the country have supported their communities by sponsoring sports teams and events, lending their expertise to local groups, and involving residents in our new developments.

“Groups who can often get overlooked have found the help they’ve needed and it’s rewarding to see the range and scope of activity we’ve assisted. The Linden Homes Foundation is set to grow and grow.”
