Launching New Linden Homes Is Child's Play For Competition Winners
16 Sep 2013

Competition-winning pupils were stars of the show at the unveiling of Linden Homes’ new Victory Fields development on the edge of Great Rissington, Gloucestershire.

Four youngsters from Great Rissington Primary School were given the honour of helping to launch the first phase of properties having won a challenge to come up with flying-inspired names for the three show homes.

The idea was inspired by the fact that the high quality collection of three, four and five-bedroom properties is being built on the former base of the world famous Red Arrows air display team.

Henry Smyth, Elena von Speyr, Jack Burroughs and Grace Taylor helped come up with the historic aircraft names “Buckingham”, “Hawker” and “Whitworth”.

They unveiled the new show homes along with headteacher Liz Bannister, chair of governors Colin Campbell and Linden Homes Thames Valley marketing and Connections manager Kam Mackrory.

Their inspiration seems to have paid off because already 10 homes have been reserved out of the 20 released in the first phase.

Linden Homes sales and marketing director, Steve Garton said: “We’re very grateful to the pupils for coming up with such thoughtful names, and their teachers for helping them. It was great to have them along for the launch, which was very popular with househunters.

“Victory Fields is all about neighbourhood, and asking the local school to name the show homes shows how keen we are to involve residents. It’s important to us to build quality, sustainable communities where people want to live.”

The planned community of over 300 homes is located almost equidistant between Cheltenham and Oxford. Nearby villages include Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water, which has an outstanding secondary school, doctor’s surgery and sports clubs.

Victory Fields holds the promise of a new primary school, a village square that will include a local shop, a proposed public house, gym and nursery, and green space dotted with play areas, wildlife ponds and tennis courts.

Main roads link to the motorway network giving access to the M40, the M4 and the M5. The nearest train station is at Kingham, from where services can reach London Paddington in about an hour and a half. The nearest international airports are Birmingham and London Heathrow.

In common with the rest of Linden Homes’ properties on site, they have a superior quality to which buyers will be looking, on top of their customary bespoke character and all-inclusive value such as fitted kitchens, turfed gardens and carpets as standard. A 10-year NHBC guarantee and two-year customer care warranty give peace of mind too.

All the homes are eligible for the government-backed Help to Buy scheme. With an equity loan of up to 20 per cent of the value of the property, it means buyers only need to come up with a 75 per cent mortgage on top of a deposit as low as five per cent.

For extra help, Linden Homes’ Part Exchange scheme allows eligible home-owners to choose from a selected range of homes and within seven days a valuation on their property will be made by three local estate agents, followed by a cash offer.

And for those who want a home with a touch of their own personality ready for when they move in, the Enhance service offers a face-to-face consultation to help design rooms and choose upgrades in advance.
