With one of the region’s best-loved fundraising events having moved to a new home this year, it seemed only fitting that organisers enlist a house builder as a new sponsor!
The 11th Pocktoberfest Beer Festival welcomed over 500 visitors – helping to raise funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).
Organised by the Pocklington & Market Weighton Round Table, the revelry moved to the new location of the town’s Rugby Club – where the event provided a packed day of beer and real ale drinking, food and a showcase of live music.
New sponsor for 2014, Linden Homes North, also has new homes of its own currently under construction at Pocklington’s Wilberforce Manor development, and at the Bradley Meadow development in Market Weighton.
Round table chairman Greg Frith approached the company to seek support for the event. He said: “We were delighted to welcome Linden Homes on board this year, and we renamed the marquee in the company’s honour.
“Pocktoberfest is a very popular date in the local social calendar and we are thrilled to report another fantastic year. In addition, we hope to have raised a substantial amount of money for the RNLI.”
Steve Woomble, sales director for Linden Homes added: “It was a great pleasure to support such a popular event taking place right in the heart of our community.”
