Forces Help To Buy Receives Boost From Government
21 Oct 2016

Military families in Hampshire hoping to get on the property ladder have received a boost from the government following the extension of the Forces Help to Buy scheme until 2018.

Defence Secretary, Michael Fallow announced the extension early this month and revealed that over 10,000 service members had applications approved through the scheme since its launch in 2014.

Buyers from military backgrounds are already cashing in on the government-backed scheme available at a number of new housing developments in Hampshire, a county steeped in military history. The Hampshire developments from award-winning housebuilder Linden Homes, include Bartons Rise in Havant, which offers serving personnel homes to buy through the Forces Help to Buy scheme.

The development is located less than a 20 minute drive from a number of naval developments in Portsmouth.

Designed to assist more military families to own their own home, the scheme allows qualifying buyers to borrow up to 50% of their annual salary, to a maximum of £25,000. It can be used towards a deposit and other costs such as solicitor’s and estate agent’s fees.

Fiona Creed, sales and marketing director, Linden Homes South, said: “The combination of quality homes, a beautiful location and surrounding countryside is what makes Bartons Rise so popular among house-hunters from far and wide – and local service personnel are no exception.

“We have a wide variety of homes available to suit all sorts of buyers and Forces Help to Buy could be the step up that some people need to find their dream home and the lifestyle they’re been looking for.”

Bartons Rise comprises of two, three, four and five bedroom houses, offering the best of modern living in a location with excellent connections to town and country. Conveniently located just north of Havant, these new homes benefit from easy access to the M3 and A27 road networks. Havant Train Station is just over a mile from the development, providing regular direct services into Portsmouth, Southampton and London.

As with all Linden Homes’ developments, each property at Bartons Rise also comes with a 10-year NHBC warranty and a two-year customer care warranty.
