Flurry Of Sales At Launch Of Hawkswood New Homes In Bicester
30 Oct 2015

A trio of homes were snapped up at Hawkswood, a brand new development in Bicester from award-winning Linden Homes, as more than 50 people attended the busy launch weekend.

A pair of three-bedroom homes and a five-bedroom home were quickly reserved by customers keen to get first choice of the hotly anticipated collection. Visitors hailed from Oxford and Surrey, with Londoners also expected to be drawn by the value and easy connections to the capital.

Hawkswood is part of Kingsmere, a new village community in Bicester. Residents will enjoy generous recreational and sports facilities, new primary and secondary schools, village centre, health facilities, a business park and hotel.

Buyers looked to the quality of Linden Homes’ distinctive choice of 150 new two, three, four and five-bedroom homes whose traditional architecture is complemented by thoughtful interiors laid out for contemporary living.

Steve Garton, Linden Homes Thames Valley sales and marketing director, said: “Hawkswood has so much going for it: location, connections, and quality. A visit to the development shows off these assets so well that we think interest is only going to grow. Buyers should act fast.”

In particular, inspiration is being taken from Hawkswood’s two show homes exemplifying the town-and-country lifestyle: rolling fields on one hand and the luxurious brands of nearby Bicester Village on the other.

The largest is the five-bedroom Grove. The detached house ranges across two-and-a-half storeys to provide flexible, family-sized accommodation. A spacious kitchen/family/dining room opens out into the garden; the en suite master bedroom enjoys a dressing room; and the top floor boasts two double bedrooms and shower room.

The property was designed by Erica Lee, from Claude Hooper Interiors. Flashes of metallic finishes are softened by soft gold and ivory fabrics, with bespoke pieces of contemporary furniture creating a boutique feel.

She explained, in particular, her treatment of the heart of the home: “In the kitchen, I have tried to keep the balance between the modern industrial feel of the urban city lifestyle and the soft luxury and glamour of a boutique hotel.”

The second show home is in the Glade style: a four-bedroom detached house. Upstairs the master bedroom is en suite, with the others served by a family bathroom. An open-plan kitchen/dining/family area and a separate living room make up the ground floor, completed by a study, utility room, and cloakroom.

Nicola Hunt, from Jane Clayton and Company, conceived the treatment. She explained:
“Classic contemporary was the theme with an eclectic mix of furniture and fabric creating a warm homely welcome. We mixed classic country green with warm purple to give a sense of affluence and aspirational family living.”

Hawkswood offers the perfect home for commuters. Just under 1.5 miles away is Bicester North railway station with a direct service into London Marylebone taking as little as 46 minutes. Further destinations including Oxford and Birmingham are available from Bicester Village station just over a mile away. The M40 is minutes away for travel by road.
